Re-formatted, Re-organized and Repetitive

Wow, it has been quite a jiffy since I last updated this blog. Let’s get on with this, shall we? The weather (haha, I mention this too many times) is great! Hahahha, well..the only lousy fraction of this fantastic weather is that I always end up running to my car in the rain, sigh….but its all good after that…..goood……

I reformatted my PC recently and it took me awhile to get it done, immeasurable amounts of data needed to be backed up prior to the actual reformatting (even so, I missed out a lot of stuff, end up re-downloading them, hmmpf!). And now, for the first time ever, my PC is outrageously organized.

Did some 3D work on Friday’s class, and goodness me…I’m terrible with 3D! Ughhh…well, I did have a smooth flow of ideas when it comes to character proposal and also the animated short it’s suppose to be in (the theme is “The 70s” so naturally its either disco with afro or flower powered hippy)…after all that, it went straight down hill.

An ordinary day in class

There’s some soap opera thing going on with my friends and somehow me in it….I won’t disclose any details here (sorry!), just thought it was worth mentioning since its really twisted and comical, heh.

Many of my friends have English names, it does occur to me at times and I end up asking myself “Why don’t I have one?” So interrogated my mom and apparently, luck eluded them twice when it came to naming both my sis and me. They told the nurse to write our names (complete with English name) and both times they forgot to write it down.

Dad took forever to name my sis, putting tones of careful consideration making sure it’ll mean something, it took my mom less than 8 seconds to settle on my name, “Let’s name him Kok Meng!” …..*sure*…..mom…I’m a boy, of course I have it, don’t have to put it in my middle name. (I don’t hate it; just wanna make fun of it, heh).

It is time to download some fonts off the internet and re-organize my computer desk, *groan*.

Note: Use Mozilla! If you’re using Internet Explorer, you are not browsing the internet!

Happy Halloween...

In Thing

Our futsal court booking was (for some reason) pushed back an hour later than what was originally intended (from 11pm to 12am). Anyway, we finally manage to get some football action going on at the stroke of midnight…..on a weekday when everyone’s suppose to be asleep already by that time. But it was worth it (in some ways) as all the good old football vibes starting rushing back in, just like old times…..just like old times….

The only down side was, none of us could last longer than expected (even though it was only an hour). 20 minutes into the game, all of us were struggling to catch our breath, where as I was out already when the game was only 10 seconds old…ack! It was fun though, good to know the good old skills are still there (maybe a little bit rusty) and I can still shoot with my left foot, so its all good…just don’t posses the stamina to go with it, sigh.

The game took a strange turn mid-way through; when the girls that came along with us suddenly decided they want some ‘action’ as well….*right*…hmmm, I pass the ball and they thought I was shooting at them, ack! Chill chill….you were the ones that want some action, and it was only a pass! You had like 20 seconds to re-act to that…even if u can’t; it’ll only (in the worst possible scenario) leave a small stain on your sneakers. Oh well, it was more like a ‘half-time’ for us when they came in…*phew* time to catch our breath.

Personally, the highlight of the night was when James did some spectacular-acrobatic-volley-over-his-head sort of thing, missed the ball completely and fell straight to the ground. The earth started to shake a little (he’s kinda big, in fact…he’s big…muscular big). There were no casualties. To sum it all up, it was more like a one-man-show for the infamous Captain Gan, famous for his solo-one-man-show take on the game (indoor or outdoor, he does the same thing) and also the occasional negotiating skills (the court was RM120 per hour, but he manage to discount it to RM100, respect!).

Note: They should play Brazilian-samba music rather than Chinese Fengtao in the Futsall Hall.

Battle of the Buffet

Man Utd v. Arsenal Aftermath

The Top Five Suspects for the “Battle of the Buffet”

SOL CAMPHELL: Suspicion immediately falls on him because he shares the same surname with the soup manufacturer. And his blood would have been brought to a boil following the penalty awarded for his mistimed tackle on Rooney.

JENS LEHMANN: He might have mistaken Fergie for Oliver Kahn, his sworn enemy and rival for the national goalkeeper’s jersey. Would have been antagonised by the penalty awarded to Rooney – which van Nistelrooy slotted effortlessly past him.

THIERRY HENRY: Frustrated by a rare lacklustre performance and whispers that he fails to rise on big occasion. But Henry is the king of cool and lobbing pea (or tomato) soup at Fergie is not his style. Would obviously have preferred French onion.

PATRICK VIERA: Sizzling with indignation following the end of his club’s unbeaten run. The French midfielder might have felt it necessary to let Fergie and United know what to expect when they come to London in February.

GABRIEL HEINZE: With a surname like that, he cannot be ignored. As a newcomer to Old Trafford, the Argentine might have thought it was traditional to mark a famous victory by anointing his manager.

Red Carpet

Felt really dumb today. I wore a red T-shirt, keep forgetting the fact that I drive a red car and own a red bag. People must think; “Wow, this guy indisputably loves the colour, red”. Well, go figure!

Submitted my application form today to
AppleStore, hopefully I get hired! I need money baby! So many things I need to buy…CD changer, iPod, RAM and this really sweet looking mouse for my PC, heh.

This morning, the last survivor of the 3 fishes finally gave up and calls it quits. Hmmpf, I think it’s Harry (they were named Tom, Dick and Harry). Oh well, finally can get rid of the aquarium, eh wait, there’s another fella inside the bathroom….ughh….we keep him there to eat any mosquito larvae and he’s gotten really big…I dunno what species it is, but its those cheapo RM1 for like 20 fishes in a small plastic bag that people buy to feed their bigger fishes. We forgot to feed him to our lohan (flower horn) and by the time we realize he was there, he was too big already, so we just left him there to chill…he’s actually kinda smart too. When he’s hungry, he makes some weird sound by popping his head out of the water.
Hey fishy, fishy, fishy….

We’re trying to organize a lil futsal session tonight at 11pm, we’ll see what happens. Really need to kick the ball around the park, god! I miss football!

Note: Today I’ll attempt to stay awake throughout the afternoon to dinnertime.

Singing In The Rain

The big showdown, the clash of the titans, the battle of the giants; whatever you want to call it, the clash has gone to Manchester Utd’s favour! The way it should be, the long unsettled victory that was very much needed! The burden, pain and agony of missing that fateful penalty last season have all been erased in just a fraction of a second. Well, dad made his prediction and turns out to be spot on (he’s savouring the moment by repeating himself that he did a prediction, sigh..eat your lunch, dad). What a great game it was!

Somebody bought a brand-spanking-new Mazda 6 (I think that’s the modal name) and my goodness, its beautiful…exotic yet commercial…sporty yet subtle…drooling inside my outlandishly small and cramped Kancil, sigh. Will I ever own a car like that? The car is blue by the way…its quite identical to the colour of the blue Kelisa.

The never-ending ‘neighbour-wars’ has seen a new chapter, with us making our offensive move this time round. [FYI: They constructed an extension on the air-well region, which makes a ridiculously loud, ear-splitting, deafening noise when it rains] So I wrote a letter to the council and complained. Few months later (sigh!) they finally decided to come over and have a look. We’ll see what happens…

We’ve received a notice from college stating that it’s a public holiday next Monday! Yay! I need some time to chill and get away from my eventful schedule! (Actually, I just want to laze around and sleep, and maybe go gaze at the Mazda 6, heh)

Note: Manchester Utd 2-0 Arsenal [Man Utd ended Arsenal's 49 game unbeaten run and obtained their 1000th point since the Premiership begun]

Go Go MAN UTD!!

Cool and Chilly

It has been quite a sluggish Saturday so far, woke up at 10am which was kinda surprising (even to me). I don’t usually wake up during the morning on a weekend; it’s always lunchtime by the time I even consider waking up. Ahhh, went back to sleep at 3pm anyways…

Staying awake was yesterday’s first agenda, and goodness me, it was one tough undertaking. Watching a tremendously boring video of this amazingly talented 3D artist work his way in creating a 3D character and later on, animate it wasn’t exactly the best recipe to stay awake on a cool and chilly morning. Even he (our lecturer) admitted himself that “If you want to fall asleep, go ahead. I know how you feel; it is a really boring video! ZzzZZzz”. Then why bother showing it to us?! Arghhh…

Apple finally replied my email about my job inquiry. Now I have to complete this form and send it back to them, sigh…keep forgetting my printer is stuck in the 90s (its obsolete already). Guess I’ll just go there personally and fill in the forms. Since we’re in the topic, yesterday; a certain Windows lover (Ian)admitted his interest in owning an Apple computer in the near future even though he despises it by saying loads of bad assumptions without proper foundation.

el scoobysnack! mastering the art of illustrator... says:
i'm gonna get my own POWERBOOK

[Quoted from MSN]

(Hahahaha, not only you slipped up, but you slipped up twice! Go Apple!)

Ohhh, I added a little chatterbox at the right side of this page…just for fun, to increase (in fact, to add!) more interactivity. Since you have to be a registered member to leave a ‘comment’ so I thought it would be a really neat added feature. Hmmmpf, what sort of policy is that?!

Dad has been searching in vain for a power steering, realised I’m quite capable of helping him in this region, since I have a past for car-modification, it shouldn’t be too much trouble. Dad insists that this power steering shouldn’t cost him more than RM600 which I thought (at first) it was ludicrous, but he had found cheap ones before. It’s just the matter of searching the right places. Then he went on explaining to me how does a power steering work, zzzZZzzzZZzz (wow, dad has done his research).

Thunders are pounding the evening sky, lightning illuminating the dark heavens, guess it’s gonna be yet another wet, wet day. Hurray!
Adios!

Rain Drops

Well, whatever happened to the “self-declared” holiday? Hmmmpf, had my first full session of classes today (boring!). Spend half the time trying to stay awake and transferring/swapping files from one iBook to another.

Thought to myself, since I love Apple Computers so much, I’ve decided “hey, why not I just work there!” and well, I did just that and conveniently enough, there were looking for part-timers (they pasted small posters at our campus) and they offer a flexible time schedule (yeah!!). Send in my resume via email several days ago and has since been sitting on the edge of my seat…waiting….and waiting for call back, only to find out that I forgot to attach my resume on the email! Bloody hell! All the anxiety for nothing, “Focus meng! Focus!”. Hmmpf…back to step one.

Today is Tuckday (if you know Chi Tuck, you know what it means) and finally get to see that little fella for the first time in months. Wondering how’s his jockey thing is going, guess I’ll find out tonight. If ‘gear’ is available, might be able to introduce him “The Jong” as well, hehehehe. [be careful man, it ain’t no chilld’s play]

Penang drivers are getting scarier by the minute, serious. Cars literally float between lanes at will, and most of the time, they occupy two lanes. Bikes are just “moving-potential-accidents-waiting-to-happen”, it’s like they have a sticker at the back of their helmet “Hey, Hit Me! If not, I’ll just annoy you and block your lane while I ride ridiculously slow” in florescent green text. Wankers!

Apart from the wild, fanatical drivers out there, it’s spectacular here…weather-wise. I have not seen daylight since I got back, rain…rain….and f**k loads of thick black “iD4-UFO-sized” clouds. Yeah! The way it should be, the ideal island lifestyle, it is almost impossible to do anything…apart from sleeping of course (and not wanting to wake up).
Apparently there's like this floating mosque just off the coast further up in between Tg Bungah and Bt Ferringi. Hmmmm, must go check it out...

Note: I wonder how big “Penang Times Square” would be. Would it even be square?

Drive safely boys and girls...

Over and out!

The Jong

Behold thy glory, the creation of the ultimate, the cross-bread of two popular styles into one. Introducing……The Jong. (imagine a joint+bong). Nobody would get what I mean but I suppose, if you’re curious enough, ask me in private, full detailed explanation will be given.

Well, managed to get hold of some ‘gear’ yesterday night and by golly, it was good…very good. Too good that I think Alvin had a system failure and some ‘blue screen’ moments towards the end, heh.

But I did noticed something really hilarious while I was driving to Vision, the traffic lights outside the Crown Jewel Hotel. There must have been like 10 to 15 cars all line up waiting for the green light to flash, then suddenly the green left arrow flashed signalling drivers who wants to make a turn. However, the straight green arrow was still red, everyone decided “Hey, look! Green left arrow, lets go straight, it’s the same thing!” and off they go, all 10 to 15 cars beating the red light, there u go, the Penangite spirit. Not that I’m a rule-following person, but to see everyone breaking the rule in a joint-venture manner, it was quite a sight, hehehehehe.
Go Penang!

Watched the
Man Utd game last night and goodness me, I think the era has ended, hmmpf, why why why….nothing is happening despite all the impressive signings. Oh yeah, the game was boring too! Apart from when Carroll made a spectacular save and Rooney had his shot on-target deflected just wide.

Well, time to clean up my room, sigh.

Note: This is how the graduation photo booklet would look like with our POP ART concept, need better pictures!

Boring Monday Blues

Howdy, it has been a ridiculously boring day so far. And I mean really really really boring! Argh, haven’t been this dead-bored in months (even in KLue wasn’t that boring when there’s nothing to do). Hmmmpf…

Arghh, where’s Ah Liew? Need to go have a match at the ‘battleground’ aka Vision Snooker Center.

Note: With boredom comes brilliant ideas, not today though.

Being Random: About Me

Three Hour Blink

Ah, first day of class. Had my alarm set to 8am and sure enough it rang on time. Took a moment to myself to savour the oh-so-wonderful morning breeze, turn my head around and it was freaking 11am! Argh, late already…oh well, afternoon class then, ZzzZzzzZ

[resume sleeping]

This comp is starting to screw up again, it went blank then blue screen saying something about my physical memory, then a bunch of numbers started to appear as if it was gonna self-destruct, alas it didn’t (would be better off if it had). Stupid PC.

Well, at least I did manage to buy some time to go get a network card to transfer all my stuff to the laptop, sigh…isn’t it standard issue to fit one it upon purchasing? *Jesus*

Guess its time to get geared up for this afternoon class I intend to go to.
“Stay awake! Stay awake!” ohhh…

Note: Self praise is no praise.

Adios!

The Sunday Scare

After a short scare this morning with some missing .dll file on my PC which prevented me to access my desktop, somehow (like always) I manage to work my way around it…without spending a fortune (RM7 to be exact), phewwwwwwww

With this instability, it does make me wonder why people bother to put up with this whole Windows masquerade, switch to OS X goddammit! It’s much more (and I mean waaaaaaaaaaaaay more) stable and reliable!
-

Well, tomorrow will be the start of college (boring!) and surprisingly enough, none of my classmates knew that the holiday is over and done with, so it means, I saved their asses from poor attendance! Hah! There you go….another job well done, bravo! It seems that I have a neck for helping people, you can call me a helpoholic (chances are, the word don’t even exist)….you’d be surprise the length I go in helping people and that includes distance! A certain ‘weekend-housemates-at-puchong’ would know just that….maybe I need to learn how to say ‘No’ or turning my phone off at the right time…heh

More electronic upgrades needed in the house, with the WiFi modem on top of the list since I have no way to access the internet with my laptop….[unless there’s an unprotected wifi around here, like kelana jaya, hehe]

It has been quite a day so far, but I still don’t really feel ‘at home’ just yet, even though it was only 2 months(plus one extra week!) in KL, but the fact of living completely on your own makes it easier to accept and adjust to rather than living back with parents where rules and restriction needs to be re-applied. I need my SPACE dammit! (love you mom and dad)

Oh yeah, gonna have to start paying for stuff again, ughh…I miss all the freebies and all-access passes I get while working with KLue…free movies…free gigs….free everything!

Note: Go go Man Utd!! End that stupid ARSEnal run their having! (you have the players! Now start clicking dammit)

Out!

Say Hello to Good Times...

After enduring the driver’s malicious taste in music with the first half of the trip being some classic Grade C Malay rock and a ridiculous collection of Chinese feng tao megamix for the 2nd half, I arrive back to the island….without too much trouble, despite having the feng tao megamix high-beat tempo tunes stuck on my head for a few minutes…

Best part was, I was greeted (during bedtime) by a nice cool+chilly mountain air, then I knew it was really back….ahhhhhhhhhhhhh(relief) had the best sleep since awhile ago.

Gonna need some time to re-adjust to the simplicity of Penang, guess that one extra week of ‘self-declared-holiday’ would be really necessary…

Changes: dad stopped smoking, mom turned into a newpaper contest junkie, my room became a store-room, one fish died while the other grew bigger…arghhh, gonna need a whole lot of time to get use to this…

Note: Gonne see if I could dig out some rewards from my parents for my grades.

The Final Dash Across The Street

Looking at the wall clock directly ahead of me, counting down to the last final few hours left at the office here, wondering why the heck did I bring in my laptop today?! Was gonna steal some music(mp3) from the office, but surprisingly….there was actually some work to do today, weird. Haven’t really had any work since Monday(that was 3weeks ago). Actually, I gotta update the site, well…its not the best job in the world so I think I’ll just pretend that I do not know about it and blame them for not reminding me, hehhe…evil me…

My bus departs at 9.30pm but my sis insists we should leave by 7.30pm latest…which I think it’s a good idea, since she’s has the worst sense of direction…by the time she figured out where this shop was at Tmn. Paramount, I’ve memorized all the roads there already….and I did that when I was sick…

Also today my results are officially out, kinda nervous, this is one of my only chance to get good grades since I’m working here…and well, things are not as rough with my lecturers anymore…the distance is doing justice to us here…

I think Alvin and I are gonna start a ‘feng-tao’ canto-pop boyband group when I get back to Penang. Hahahha, we’ll be called FTU (Feng Tao Uar, stands for The Feng Tao Language) hehehe, its easy for him since he has already started transforming himself into one with all the yellow hair and chest-baring cloths he likes to wear sooo much….hehe.

I’ve heard about this
LUCT Scholarship programme before, thanks to ian, now I’m reminded of that possibility again…the only problem is….finding out whats the catch…pros and cons….and well….are there any consequences, seems to good to be true, but I have a friend who seem to be doing just fine despite taking that scholarship programme..hmmm, “what are you up to mr. Tan Sri Lm??...hmm” is this some kind of sick joke that old dicks make that young dicks don’t get? Hmmmm (I stole that line, and modified it, hehhahe)

Anyway, if I had to pick one picture to summarize my entire experience here…without a doubt, it has to be this one! Thanks chivas! The life was great…

(From left: Nadz, Ian, Audrey & Me)

Note: I just got a call from home, and I got a 3.8GPA (2A 1B) !!! aaaaahhhh!! So happy!!

Peace out Kuala Lumpur!

Lady Luck Frowning

After a cup of the good-ol-3-in-1 coffee and a rolled ciggy(yes I make my own cigarettes, hey! Its cheaper that way, its expensive these days to even kill yourself), finally manage to summon some energy and hopefully creativity as well in writing this. My day seems to get better and better, abruptly woken up by this annoying car-alarm, forgetting my wallet and now the ridiculously heavy rain here in Sentral, sigh… and I have to rush back to get my freakin portfolio(its at home at kelana jaya) for a presentation for this wedding video and photo service we(me, ian and dimar) are doing…

Oh god! How how how?? We've been trying to get an assignment for ages and finally we have one and this happens, sheesh…am I doomed to fail?

Self pity aside, at 9.30pm tonight will mark my final 24hrs here as an intern at KLue, and I'll finally be off to start my official holiday (the holiday my college allocate for us) as well as the extra one week of 'self-declared' holiday I'm gonna take. Hehehe, HEY!
I'm only human, I need my break…

This cough is really getting on my nerves, grrrrr….its repetitive and sometimes it comes with the occasional hint of blood in it, ewwwwwww…yucks…been having trouble sleeping because of that, and also the fact that my mouth is no longer in its original shape and size (throat too) with all this intense coughing and all, bugger… :P

The rain seems to have subsided, guess its time to take that dash across the street to the lrt and then a 500m sprint to my apartment…

Note: I need to quit smoking

My First Time

Being ever so curious about all this blog thing, finally decided to start one myself, thought it would help me keep track of all my bumps and tumbles of my boring yet "i-cant-seem-to-find-time-for-anything" life.

Living here in KL has thought me one thing; life does not suck living alone independently, and well so it seems apparently. But this Friday marks my return to the island of betelnut, Penang. Woohooo (sarcastically), not that I hate penang or anything, in fact by all means, I love penang. Its just that living here for 21 years aint exactly exciting with my longest time away prior to being in KL for 2 months has only been a couple of days…

Classes will resume this coming Monday, ughhhhh. And to think that I was going to work and then complete my degree, it seems to be a daunting task, being away from college for 2 months only is almost impossible to set my mind back into studying…how about when I do it for real…ouch!

Here's something kind of random, I noticed I've become more colour coordinated since purchasing an ibook for the trip, every electronic gadget I buy (or intend to) has to be in colour-synch with my comp, it has been annoying to some people I know as I keep saying "This would really go well with my ibook!" hehehehe, sorry. Well, ask Audrey, she would say the same thing. I think she has gone to the extreme by saying "When I own a house, I want my house to be all white, including the furniture!"…and I think she said black too…or silver…hmm can't really remember…so I can't be THAT bad…yet.

But what was annoying was when I found out I could have gotten it 20% cheaper via KLue if I had known there was some sort of Media discount, bloody hell!!! Could have owned a powerbook instead…oh well, shit does happen, better luck next time. Its weird that they give this discounts to media people rather than designers, I think apple computers are more suitable for designers as their OS is much…much…much more stable than the crash-prone Windows (XP seems to be doing alright, but not as efficient when it comes to multi-tasking).

Well, times up…time to take a ride on the LRT and walk home…sigh

Note: I think they should stop putting pickles in the Double Cheese Burger at McD, this is Malaysia! Not freakin America…
Peace.
