Having ideas is the closest a man will ever come to giving birth. When you’ve had an idea and it’s a really good idea and you know it, it has a life. You can see what’s right for it, you can see what’s wrong for it, you can see what it should be, what school it should go, what kind of street it should live in, what clothes it should wear.
It is easier to tell if you have done a good ad. If you have to wonder about it too much, it’s probably not good. If you still like it two or three days later, once the tiredness has gone away and you’re feeling more detached. A lot of times, when you first come up with an idea, you’re just so happy to be out of that state of worry and over immersion.
